About Kennedy's Dance Club

Its a wonderful life… especially when you're dancing all the way! Kennedy's Dance Club exists to introduce beginners to the life-transforming joys of dancing in a relaxed and fun atmosphere, and to provide more experienced dancers with a lively and engaging social environment in which to meet and mix with like-minded individuals.

First and foremost, we aim always to make our dance classes friendly, enjoyable and rewarding whilst we guide you step by step towards fulfilling your dancing goals, whatever they may be. Complete beginners are always very welcome at Kennedy's, as are more experienced dancers.

During our classes, dance steps are taught in manageable chunks so you never feel overwhelmed with too much to remember. Our teaching process enables even the least confident of beginners to accomplish each dance and enjoy the satisfaction and sense of achievement that this always brings! We deliberately limit our class sizes so that we are always able to offer our pupils the individual care and personal attention they require in order to be able to progress and improve at a steady and manageable pace. We even film all new steps and post on the relevant Whatsapp groups so the keenest learner can practice at home!

We had watched Strictly Come Dancing for many years, and we decided we needed a new challenge in our later life and to have fun. Debra and John at Kennedy's Dance Club offered us both. Debra is the principal and her team are brilliant! The dancing is fantastic and the teachers have an abundance of patience. From group sessions to private catch-up lessons and social evenings, there is something for everyone. Deciding to learn to dance was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made.

John & Alyson

Debra Kennedy

Debra Kennedy (nee Young) has been dancing all her life. After a childhood filled with dances classes, exams, competitions and show performances Debra pursued a dancing career at the London College of Dance and Drama, qualifying to teach all genres of dance. Debra was the founder and principal of Milton Keynes Dance Centre, which became one of the top ten most successful dance schools in the country. Since meeting her husband and dance partner John, she has passed the Milton Keynes Dance Centre children's sector to her award winning daughter Laura Christie, leaving her more time and energy to concentrate on the adult dance sector known as 'Kennedy's Dance Club'.

John Kennedy

John decided to take up dancing at the ripe old age of 50! After spending all of his adult life attending various rock’n’roll events he recalls watching couples with envy, as they were having fun on the dance floor and wishing he could do the same. He eventually tired of being the perpetual wallflower and decided to try some dance lessons. His confidence grew and he hasn’t looked back since. So much so that after two years of Jive he tried his hand at ballroom and Latin and needless to say the ballroom bug took a firm hold, as is often the case. Speak to John today and he’ll tell you that learning to dance is one of the best decisions he’s ever made, and that you're never too old to learn to dance!

Laura

Laura is the principal of the Milton Keynes Dance Centre and when her busy schedule allows she can be seen on the dance floor at our social events. We are very lucky to have Laura as a very versatile supply teacher who can step into the breech as needed no matter what the style of the dance may be.

Christine & John

Our ballroom professional Christine along with her husband John are at their most content when they witness the fruits of their tuition on the dance floor and both play an important role here at Kennedys Dance Club. Christine says: “It’s such a pleasure seeing sometimes reluctant beginners really start to enjoy dancing and wanting to learn more as they become confident in their social dancing.”

Andy & Pauline

Andy has loved rock’n’roll all his life but never considered to wanting to learn to Jive unlike his partner Pauline who did. They decided to try some lessons at their local club and immediately caught the bug. That was six years ago and it opened up a great new social life finally leading them to Kennedy’s Dance Club. Andy says: “Since we live a good hour's drive away people often ask us why we travel all the way to Milton Keynes for our lessons. The answer is simple, the best teachers are there, lessons are great, there’s always lots to learn but plenty of fun.”

Juliet & Paul

Juliet and Paul are two of our Ballroom and Argentine Tango professionals. Their number one hobby is dancing and they love to be able to share their knowledge and experience with all our pupils.

Alan, Sue & Elaine

Our multi talented trio of husband and wife Alan and Sue along with Elaine have been dancing for more years then they care to remember and they are valuable assets to our classes. After years of perfecting their own dancing, their greatest reward is to help with our beginners and improvers at our Monday night rock’n’roll classes. They look forward to meeting you.

What our pupils say…

Kennedy's is a fantastic dance school which is both warm and welcoming. We have made lots of great friends and discovered the joy of dance.
